Kumeu Village is located in the heart of Kumeu.  We are seeking an energetic and thorough cleaner to join us on a Casual basis to our great team at Kumeu.  Someone that is able to follow direction and use their initiative to ensure the highest of standards in our residents beautiful home here.

Responsibilities are as follows:

• To keep Kumeu Village Rest Home a safe, clean, and hygienic environment.
• To carry out all cleaning tasks as per the listed duties in a professional and timely manner to ensure the Home meets all hygiene and cleanliness requirements.
• To make sure all cleaning equipment is in good operational order.
• To ensure at all times the safety of the residents/elders in the Home with regards to wet floors and electrical cords etc. To ensure all chemicals are stored safely.
• To understand the safe uses of all cleaning agents.
• To ensure that Resident’s property is cared for in a safe, respectful and careful manner.
• To treat all the Residents in the Home with dignity and ensuring their privacy and confidentiality.
• To read the Staff Handbook and act in accordance with the standards outlined.
• To always read the Staff Communications/Hand-over sheets and regarding changes to any Residents.
• To maintain an appropriate standard of dress/hygiene as mentioned in the Staff Handbook.
• To identify and log any equipment, plant or machinery requiring repairs or maintenance in the maintenance register.
• To exhibit awareness of health-related issues for specific cultural groups and ensure current policies take into account the Treaty of Waitangi.
• To use Leecare on supplied tablets/computers as the main source of communication and to keep up to date with changes, happenings, and meetings.
• To attend regular training and meetings to keep up to date with current best practice in the Residential Care/ financial Services environment.
• To ensure all documentation and information is stored/archived and maintained per policy in order to maintain privacy/confidentiality as well as meet statutory timeframes prior to being safely destroyed/removed from premises.
• To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned, to ensure the effective running of the Home, within the scope of your role.
